About this webinar

Welcome to the first in our series of clinical assessment webinars: why measure microcirculation. In session #1, professor Jean-Luc Cracowski, MD, Ph.D., from Grenoble Alpes University, France, will provide an overview of microcirculation and its role in clinical assessment.

Variations in skin blood flow result from highly complex interactions between endothelial, myogenic and neuromuscular mechanisms. In this conference, we will detail the anatomy, physiology and pharmacology of the human skin microcirculation. We will then introduce the current methods of exploration. We will further discuss the part played by cutaneous microvascular impairment in the pathophysiology of systemic diseases and whether cutaneous microcirculation could be used as a surrogate biomarker.

Attendees will be provided with practical ways to detect these issues (for providers), and how to reduce the likelihood of their occurrence (for laboratorians).

Speaker:

Jean-Luc Cracowski
